Center for adult education Validus, in partnership with the Association for Promoting Inclusion and the Ministry for Social Welfare Policy and Youth, is running the training program Person-Centered Planning – creating the better future for the persons with disabilities.
This program is primarily designed for experts who work with persons with intellectual disabilities and also persons who have accompanying difficulties. Through the program, the trainees will learn the basics of the person-centered approach and relationship building, they will acquire skills for facilitating the process of the person.-centered planning and graphically depicting that process by applying the planning tools MAPs (Making Action Plans) and PATH (Planning Alternative Tomorrows With Hope).
The training program is held in 2 Modules and 5 consultative workshops from mid March until end of June.
The trainers are prominent US experts Patti Scott and Dave of the Neighbours. Inc., and experts from the Association for Promoting Inclusion with years of practical experience in application of the person-centered planning tools.
The trainees are experts from 10 institutions for social welfare and other service providers who work with the persons with intellectual difficulties.
Upon completion of the program, the trainees will have acquired the basic skills to facilitate the processes of the person-centered planning and the MAPs and PATH techniques.
