The overall objective of this project is to provide at home support for children with multiple disabilities (severe and profound intellectual disabilities and combined disabilities – neuromuscular diseases, cerebral palsy, and chronic diseases) and their biological families. The mobile multidisciplinary team consists of a psychologist, a health technician – nurse, a social worker, a lawyer and two assistants. The children and their families receive continuous and occasional support in caring for the child as well as individual psychological support. On average, a child and family receive 8 hours of weekly support in their home. In total, the project supports 8 families (10 children with multiple disabilities).
We expect that these activities will show the necessity for this type of mobile support services in the community, which have a positive influence on the quality of children’s and parents’ lives. This action supports families to keep and care for their child in the family.
