Mobile Support Service project ended

Project Mobile Support Service for children with multiple disabilities living in biological families was implemented continuously from the year 2007 until the 31. of December 2011. Ministry of Family, War veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity and City of Zagreb were regularly providing financial support.

The aim of this project was providing support in homes of children with multiple developmental disabilities and their families.

Mobile multidisciplinary team (consisted of psychologist, social worker, lawyer and two nurses) was providing continuous and temporary assistance in care for the child, individual expert and psychological support and realisation of the family rights from different aspects.

In average, child and family were achieving 8 hours of the week support in their home. During five years period of implementation, 14 families (16 children with multiple disabilities) were involved in project activities.

This type of mobile support service in community positively influences the quality of life of children and their parents, at the same time providing assistance to the parents in order to avoid putting the child in residential institution.
